Kaitlyn Shields

Coxswain Coach

Kaitlyn Shields is a highly proficient and seasoned coxswain coach.

​

With a coxswain coaching tenure that began in 2018, Kaitlyn has demonstrated her expertise in coxswain instruction. Notably, she has twice represented New Zealand as a coxswain in the U21 and U23 teams.

​

Her involvement in high-performance rowing dates back to 2017. Kaitlyn's contributions extend beyond coaching, as she has played a pivotal role in mentoring and selecting successful New Zealand Coxswains for U23s, U21s, U19s, University Trans-Tasman teams, and the U18 North vs. South Island team selected post-Maadi Cup.

Additionally, she has coached coxswains at the school level in New Zealand and Australia, guiding them to achieve success at Maadi Cup Level and GPS Head of the River level alongside gaining selection into representative teams.
